We no longer support BGP MD5 passwords on any BGP session.
# Peering on IXs
If you peer with the route servers, we probably already peer! Please only reach out to us for bilateral peering if you don't peer with the route servers, or have a specific need.
# PNIs
Generally, our minimum PNI speed is 100G. Exceptions to this are limited to Africa, the Middle East, and India, where we will continue to support Nx10G PNIs for the foreseeable future. (We can support a limited number of 40G PNIs in most markets.)
We will generally seek a PNI once traffic levels reach 15Gbps during busy hours.
All PNIs must be configured in a LAG, even if there is only one physical interface.
We require all peers to work with us to increase capacity once link utilization reaches 65% during peak hours.
CacheFly will only pay MRCs on cross connects that have at least a 100G link-speed. We will cover the MRC on odd number cross connects (e.g. 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc). We expect our peers to cover the MRC on even number cross connects (e.g. 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc).
# Want us to join your IX?
We are happy to connect to any on-net IX, so long as there is no flat-rate fee. (Competitive 95th percentile pricing may be acceptable.) Deviations from this policy will be exceptionally rare.
# Routing to AS30081
If you don't peer with AS30081 and want an optimal experience, please prefer these routes where available:
- Asia: AS2914 or AS6453
- Australia: AS1221 or AS7474
- Europe: AS174, AS3257, or AS9002
- Latin America: AS7195
- North America: AS174 or AS3257
# Routing from AS30081 to Your Network
CacheFly will always primarily route by performance. If our peering with you is congested or saturated, we will reroute some traffic over transit. The only way to avoid this is to maintain ample capacity.
If you have a path you know is nearing congestion, please consider prepending *some* of your routes, so traffic reroutes to the next best path.
